Joliet Central Teacher Erica Senffner Honored With Prestigious Alumni Award
As part of the festivities, Senffner will attend a special alumni reception hosted by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

JOLIET, IL ? Joliet Central High School is proud to announce that Erica Senffner, a dedicated and accomplished history teacher at the school, has been selected to receive the Frederick D. Drake History Teacher Alumni Award from Illinois State University. This prestigious honor is awarded to alumni who exemplify excellence in teaching and have made significant contributions to the field of history education.
A graduate of ISU?s History Department, Senffner was chosen for her outstanding academic and professional achievements. She will be honored during ISU?s Homecoming and Alumni Day celebrations on Friday, October 17, where she will serve as a distinguished guest.

?Since graduating from ISU, you have had an auspicious academic and professional career. Thus, the Drake Award, given by the Department to one of our former students who best emulates Fred?s teaching excellence, is fitting recognition of your accomplishments and is a sign of our pride in having your name associated with our program,? said Ross A. Kennedy, Professor and Chair of the ISU Department of History.
As part of the festivities, Senffner will attend a special alumni reception hosted by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, a luncheon honoring all university-wide alumni award recipients, and will deliver a talk to current ISU history majors about her experiences as a history educator.
