Joliet Chamber’s Leadership is Expanding
Jen Howard has been appointed to Interim President of the Joliet Chamber, effective April 1.
The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry recently announced new leadership updates and expansion. Jen Howard has been appointed to Interim President of the Joliet Chamber, effective April 1, 2020. This announcement comes amid the impending retirement of current Chamber President, Mary Jaworski, set for April 8, after more than 25 years of service in Joliet.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors is proud to appoint Howard, who has served as a member of the Board for the past 4 years. Howard is the owner of the TCBY in Shorewood, IL and has proven herself to be a trusted leader and entrepreneur through the years while growing in several areas, including sales, marketing community relations and operations. She has also been successful in building relationships with community partners, client companies, and employee teams
Howard’s work and service in the community goes beyond her business and the Board of Directors. She is also involved in non-profit organizations across the Joliet community, including serving as President for the Rotary Club of Joliet and the Board President for the Joliet Junior College Foundation. Additionally, Howard is a board member for the Illinois Partners for Human Services, Rialto Square Theatre Foundation, Greater Area Joliet’s YMCA and a member of the Joliet City Center Partnership of Downtown Marketing Committee.

When Jaworski’s retirement was announced in September 2019, Mike Paone was first announced as her successor. However, Paone decided to forgo the position and focus on his passion for advocacy with local, state, and national government affairs while still remaining with the chamber. He will also continue to dedicate his time and energy to being more involved in Chamber Subgroups and membership.
Following her retirement, Jaworski will stay on as a part-time consultant. Kelly Baltas and Lisa Jones will take over as Executive Vice President and Vice President of Finance and Operations, respectively.
