Joliet Child, 4, Left Home All Alone, Police Find Mom Was At Work: Police
The child was placed into the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Joliet police announced.

JOLIET, IL ? A 26-year-old Joliet woman named Alisa Iacsin was arrested by the Joliet Police Department on child abandonment charges after leaving her 4-year-old girl home all alone while she went to work, according to arrest reports.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 6:17 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of South May Street for a report of a 4-year-old child that was possibly home alone without parental supervision.
Upon arrival, the officers received no answer at the door and the residence appeared secure. Shortly after 7 a.m., the officers contacted Iacsin, the mother of the child, by phone and learned she was at work and her 4-year-old daughter was home alone at the residence, English said.

Police said Iacsin returned home and allowed the officers to enter the residence, where they found the child sleeping.
Police believe the child had been alone since approximately 5:30 that morning, English said.

Iacsin was placed into custody without incident. The child was placed into protective custody.
The child was evaluated by Joliet Fire Department paramedics as a precaution and was found to be in good health. The child was placed into the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Joliet police said.
As for Iacsin, the Joliet mother was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a notice to appear at the Will County Courthouse.
