Joliet Woman's Disruptive Behavior, Threatening Officers, Leads To Arrest: Landeros
Brassard?s behavior escalated, and she turned her aggression toward the officers, cursing and threatening them, Joliet police said.

JOLIET, IL ? The Joliet Police Department announced that a 47-year-old woman from the community was arrested on Sunday in connection with allegations of threatening behavior toward the police officers, following a disturbance at a house.
Leslie A. Brassard was arrested, booked, and released on a notice to appear on charges of aggravated assault to a police officer.
According to police spokesman Tizoc Landeros, at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 24, Joliet officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Sudbury Drive for a disturbance. Officers spoke with several people, including Brassard, who was no longer welcome at the residence due to her disruptive behavior and substance abuse, the agency noted.

In an effort to assist, officers attempted to find Brassard a place to stay. At her request, calls were made to family and friends, but no one was able to help. Officers also contacted the Daybreak Shelter, which reported no available beds.
As the interaction continued, Brassard?s behavior escalated, and she turned her aggression toward the officers, cursing and threatening them, Landeros said.

She then aggressively approached one of the officers after making threats. The officer ordered her to back away and sit down. A short time later, Brassard again closed the distance in an aggressive manner. Believing her actions to pose a real threat, the officer placed Brassard into custody, Landeros said.
Brassard was arrested and transported to the Joliet Police Department booking area, where she was processed and subsequently released without further incident.
