Manley Celebrates Stepping Stones? Recovery Home For Women, Children

Construction is taking place on Stepping Stones' 1621 Theodore Street and 1620 Plainfield Road properties.

JOLIET ?State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, recently attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Stepping Stones? new Recovery Home for Women & Children. The new home will provide accessible, personalized care aimed at long-term recovery and improved well-being for women and their children.

?Science has confirmed that addiction is a disease, not a weakness of the person or a lack of self-control and that recovery is possible. This home will stand as a testament to our community's commitment to lifting up women and empowering them to rebuild their lives alongside their children with dignity and strength,? Manley stated.

The Joliet recovery home will be a two-story, eight-unit apartment building with room for women and up to two of their young children. Construction is taking place on Stepping Stones' 1621 Theodore Street and 1620 Plainfield Road properties.

It is expected to take approximately six months to complete construction.
