JOLIET, IL ? A 41-year-old Joliet man who Joliet police say does not have a valid driver's license was driving his pickup truck in the middle of the night without any headlights now finds himself having to find a criminal defense attorney following his weekend arrest on DUI charges.

Joliet police advised that Ruben Ferres Canizales was charged and released on a notice to appear in court for DUI and DUI-BAC .08 or More.

According to the police files, on September 7,, at 3:01 a.m., the officers stopped the Toyota Tacoma for no activated headlights and improper lane usage near Jackson Street and North Joliet Street.

Ferres Canizales was the driver.

"Due to his behaviors, Officers suspected Ferres Canizales was possibly impaired by alcohol. He also indicated that he had consumed alcohol prior to driving. Ferres Canizales performed field sobriety tests and was placed into custody without incident," police spokesman Dwayne English noted.

Two open beer bottles were located in the vehicle, the arrest indicated.

Ferres Canizales was cited for improper lane usage, improper lighting, no valid driver license, illegal transportation of alcohol by driver and operating an uninsured vehicle.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
