Rt 59 L.A. Fitness Changes Business Name to Esporta Fitness

JOLIET, IL — Last May, Joliet Patch reported that the L.A. Fitness at 1745 Route 59 in Joliet was being sued for not paying its rent while being shutdown amid Governor J.B. Pritzker's orders that prohibited health clubs and gyms from being open.

In recent days, a new banner has been displayed across the top of the L.A. Fitness building. There is another sign closer to Route 59 alerting motorists that the Joliet L.A. Fitness will now be known as Esporta Fitness.

According to the L.A. Fitness Facebook page, the Route 59 location in Joliet offers plenty of amenities including: racquetball courts, basketball courts, aerobics rooms, a whirlpool spa, sauna, indoor pool, a kids club, cycling room and a juice bar.

The following information is posted on the website for the L.A. Fitness company: "As of January 1, 2020, we are rebranding 17 of our LA Fitness locations in the greater Phoenix market to Esporta Fitness . You may notice new signage on the outside of those clubs, while on the inside, you'll be seeing some new colors, new graphics and, in many cases, a new club layout designed to feature functional training. However, this rebranding will not limit your membership access or change your pricing."

The Esporta Fitness website indicated it is currently offering an online membership special. Customers can pay a $99 initiation fee and $9.99 per month or go with the $49 initiation fee and pay $19.99 per month.
