Smoke Shop Superstore Opens In Joliet With Special Sale

JOLIET, IL — The revival of Joliet's West Jefferson Street business corridor got another boost on Friday when a local entrepreneur known as "M.J." opened the Smoke Shop Superstore at the empty Bob and Sis' Catering. This marks M.J.'s second Smoke Shop Superstore in the area. He also has the one in Crest Hill at 1800 North Larkin Avenue.

His new location in Joliet has an address of 1358 West Jefferson Street. Vehicles can enter and exit from both Jefferson Street and Midland Avenue, the owner said.

During Friday's opening, M.J. told Joliet Patch he is offering a grand opening special sale for a limited time. Any customer who spends $100 or more for merchandise at the new Joliet store will get a $20 gift to be used for the purchase of additional store merchandise.

M.J. said Smoke Shop Superstore features vapes, cigarettes, glass pipes, tobacco and plenty of premium cigars. The store has a humidor.

Joliet Patch asked M.J. why he chose to open his second location at the corner of Midland and Jefferson. "Jefferson Street," he answered without hesitation. "It's a nice street and it's a nice corner."

What are the hours of operation?

MJ said that Smoke Shop Superstore will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Eventually, he plans to take down the outdated Bob & Sis' Catering sign along Jefferson Street and replace it with LED lighting, he said.
