Thunder, New Joliet Football Team, Plays This Weekend
This marks the first home game for the Joliet Thunder Developmental Football team.

JOLIET, IL - Last weekend, about 45,000 people packed into Joliet Memorial's Stadium for the annual Taste of Joliet. This weekend on Saturday night, the outdoor sports stadium will be the site of the first-ever home football game for the Joliet Thunder. It's a developmental team that features several former Joliet High School and college football players including:
- Jarvell Caples, Joliet Central, 2012, 2013, 2014
- Neal Scott, Joliet Junior College,
- TJ Cox, Joliet Junior College
- Josh Faulk, Catholic Catholic, Class of 2012
- Steven Brown-Washington, Joliet Central 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
- Carlos Curry, Joliet Central, 2009-2013
- Tre Neal, Joliet Central, 2010-1014.
The Joliet Thunder's first home game of the year is Saturday, June 30, at 7 p.m. The team plays the Rockton Rush. Other teams in the Joliet Thunder's conference include Chicago Chaos, Chicago Ducks, Lincoln-Way Patriots, Illinois Cowboys and Quad City Raiders. Here is the team's website.
Tickets for home games are $10 for adults, $5 kids, any school ID, college or high school $5, anyone wearing Thunder gear free, kids wearing jerseys or cheer uniforms free, any teacher with school ID is free, military free, senior citizens free, police, fire, EMT and emergency personnel are also free.

"The Joliet Thunder developmental football program was established in 1991 as the Chicago Thunder ... the Thunder made Joliet our new home after 25 years of playing in the immediate Chicago area. We will play our home games at Joliet Memorial Stadium as a proud member of the MidStates Football League," its website proclaims.
