Twenty two midwest teams are coming to Frankfort to fight for a bid to the national tournament. The tournament will run from Saturday, 8 am until 8 pm and Sunday from 8 am until 6 pm.
LWSRA creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Since 1976, LWSRA has provided adaptive and special recreation services for individuals with disabilities.
LWSRA, located at 1900 Heather Glen Dr. in New Lenox, operates very similarly to the local park district. The only difference is we only serve individuals with special needs whether it be a physical or cognitive disability. Last year, we offered 208 different programs to 391 participants and that number continues to grow.
It provides both adapted and Special Olympic sports programs. LWSRA does not believe in limiting one’s wants or needs in leisure, and offers more than just sports programs.
Like a local park district, LWSRA provides a variety of programs such as zumba, cooking, drama, monthly dances, social club groups, trips and outings of special events. It also runs an adult day program and youth summer camps.
LWSRA is committed to breaking down those preconceived barriers by providing a vast array of opportunities so that individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities can elevate their lives through recreation and leisure.
