2012 Graduation Guide: North County High School

The day has finally arrived—about 450 seniors are expected to walk across the stage Tuesday morning and receive their high school diplomas.
Headed to the event? Here are a few things you might want to know—including the school's tie for valedictorian:
- Date: Tuesday, June 5
- Time: 10 a.m.
- Place: Towson Center Arena at Towson University, 500 Osler Dr., Towson MD.
- Keynote speakers: Principal Bill Heiser and Anne Arundel County Board of Education Member Eugene Peterson
- Valedictorian: Raymond Low—4.54 GPA, with plans to attend St. John's College
- Valedictorian: Shirley Zhu—4.54 GPA, with plans to attend Princeton University
About 450 seniors are expected to graduate from North County Tuesday with seniors receiving more than $10 million in scholarships collectively this year—a jump from last year's school record of $7 million.

Zhu received the second largest amount of scholarship offers at the school with nearly $800,000, said Kristin Krycia, head of North County's college and career center.
