- Glen Burnie local Master Sgt. Bonnie Rushing will begin teaching general business in the U.S. Air Force Academy's military and strategic studies department. Rushing began her Air Force career as a language specialist, and her most recent position is part of the Academy's expanding roster of enlisted faculty members. Congratulations Bonnie! - Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie is up for auction again! For $500,000 you could be eligible to bid on the mall (including all property, contents, and leases) at the Courthouse in Annapolis. The mall has taken a beating since 2018, and first declared bankruptcy in 2020. (Free: Eye On Annapolis, Subscription: Baltimore Business Journal)
- Although the Glen Burnie unemployment rate has improved since the beginning of the pandemic, the most recent rates show less promise. The Bureau of Labor Statistics figures show an increase in unemployment from April to May. Anne Arundel County as a whole has a lower May unemployment rate than Maryland's, but also increases from April to May. (More on Patch)
- Anne Arundel County police pulled over a vehicle matching the description of one that was stolen from Glen Burnie. Although the vehicle was not the same one involved in the Giant Food store abduction, the traffic stop did lead to the arrest of a Mississippi man after a loaded gun was found in the van.
