1. In Thursday's newsletter, you read that a Baltimore police officer was arrested by Anne Arundel County police after his 15-year-old stepson was found unresponsive in the family's Curtis Bay home. In a tragic turn of events, Eric Banks Jr. has been charged with the murder of his stepson, Dasan Jones, after the boy's body was found in a bedroom wall. Jones recently finished his freshman year at Glen Burnie High School in the BioMedical Allied Health program. (NBC )
2. Anne Arundel County prosecutors dropped charges of 'two counts of accessory after the fact' against Cambrea Sieck. Sieck allegedly helped her husband,Edwin Javier Hurtado-Valdez, flee after he murdered two Glen Burnie men (Antwon Elijah Queen, 20, and Antwan Troy Briggs, 24) in 2019. 3. Anne Arundel County Council unanimously voted to purchase about 15 acres of land using funds from the Advance Land Acquisition Capital Project. The land is intended to be the location of a new elementary school in Glen Burnie. The $5.1 million buy at 7180 Heritage Crossing will help ease overcrowding issues at the Marley and Solley elementary schools.
