9 Counts Of Child Porn Possession Filed Against Glen Burnie Man

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie man was arrested on nine counts of possession of child pornography. Anne Arundel County Police are asking anyone with information in the case to contact investigators.

Phillip Beaumont Helmbright, 68, of the 400 block of Hideaway Loop in Glen Burnie, was arrested Nov. 2 on the criminal charges.

The Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit began an investigation April 24 after receiving a report about an account connected with the upload of pornographic images of children to an internet site.

On June 11, detectives executed a search warrant at Helmbright's residence in the 400 block of Hideaway Loop in Glen Burnie. Numerous digital devices were seized so they could be analyzed. Helmbright was at the scene during the search.

Forensic examination found child pornography on the devices. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Helmbright charging him with multiple counts of possession of child pornography. He was arrested Nov. 2 without incident.

The tip that sparked the investigation was provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a non-profit organization with a mission to find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation and prevent child victimization.
