Candy Fontz Named Community Liaison for North County
The Glen Burnie Improvement Association vice president will now work in the Constituent Services Office.

After a number of dismissals and appointments prompted by the arrival of new County Executive Laura Neuman, north county was left without a representative in the Office of Community and Constituent Services.
But Neuman announced this week that north county will be represented by one of its own, with Candy Fontz taking the place of Mark Chang as community liaison, reports The Maryland Gazette.
Fontz, who is also the vice president of the Glen Burnie Improvement Association (GBIA), was recognized last year for her volunteer efforts around town, winning the Richard H. Carter Memorial Award last May.
Fontz joined the GBIA in 1989, and she volunteers in many of the events organized by the association.
She is attending more community meetings, and told The Gazette that she considers zoning, street maintenance and trash pickup to be some of the most pressing issues raised by residents.
