Glen Burnie: Accident
A 91-year-old man was hospitalized after a car collision at Dorsey Road near Stewart Avenue around 10:41 a.m. Wednesday, according to Capt. James Rostek, Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman. The man was taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Linthicum: Fall
An 89-year-old woman was injured from a fall in the 500 block of Shipley Road around 9:33 a.m. Wednesday.

She was taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries, said Capt. James Rostek, Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman.
Glen Burnie: Accident
A 26-year-old woman was sent to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious, but not life-threatening injuries after a car collision at I-97 and Route 100 around 8:41 a.m. Wednesday, Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Capt. James Rostek said.

Glen Burnie: Fall
A 91-year-old man was taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious but not life-threatening injuries from a fall in the 500 block of Delaware Avenue around 5:31 p.m. Tuesday, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Capt. James Rostek.

Brooklyn Park:
Anne Arundel County Police are investigating the alleged assault of a 17-year-old lacrosse player who was injured during a game Sunday in Brooklyn Park. The players from Northeast were reportedly not participating in a game that was sanctioned or sponsored by Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
According to a police press release, a 16-year-old player cross-checked the Northeast player, hitting him in the "head area," during an altercation between players.
At about 1:40 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to Brooklyn Park Middle School for a reported assault. Once on the scene, they learned that the lacrosse game between Northeast and DeMatha was interrupted by the altercation between players.
As game officials attempted to get control of the players, police said the 16-year-old struck the 17-year-old with his lacrosse stick. The 17-year-old fell to the ground and received medical attention from a trainer who was on the scene.
Police said both players were wearing their lacrosse equipment, including helmets and gloves.
Fire personnel took the 17-year-old to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore in critical but not life-threatening condition, where he was treated and released.
Police continue to investigate the incident while it awaits review by the State's Attorney's Office.

Glen Burnie: Drug arrests
Police arrested four people in Glen Burnie Friday and charged them with drug offenses.
Ronnie Eugene Sheff, 28, of Woodlawn; Carl M. Howard, 31, and Teon Lemont Scott, 26, both of Glen Burnie; and Margaret Betty Cook, 21, of no fixed address all were arrested and charged with possession of drugs and possession with intent to distribute drugs.
According to a police press release, officers executed a search and seizure warrant at the 400 block of Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie at about 10 p.m. Friday. Police said the warrant was the result of an investigation into drug activity in the apartment.
During the search, police found .7 grams of marijuana, a trace amount of PCP, nine ecstasy pills and six grams of crack cocaine.
Charges are pending against three others, police said.

Glen Burnie: Armed robbery
Three men robbed a 22-year-old man in Glen Burnie Oct. 13, police said.
According to a police press release, officers responded to the 300 block of Gatewater Court at about 11:15 p.m. for a reported robbery.
Once on the scene officers spoke with the 22-year-old man who said three men approached him as he walked to his apartment. One suspect pulled a firearm and pointed it at the man and demanded everything in his pockets. The men took the victim’s wallet and punched him before running behind the apartment complex toward Furnace Avenue.
Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to find the men, police said.
Glen Burnie:
A bank and Chuck E. Cheese restaurant were evacuated Thursday after a contractor struck a gas line in the area and caused a leak, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department Chief Michael Cox.
The 4-inch, high pressure, gas line at 6708 Ritchie Highway was breeched around 11:55 a.m. Cox said. Fire department crews blocked off the area and evacuated the Wells Fargo Bank where the gas line is located and a nearby Chuck E. Cheese.
Crews were on the scene until 6 p.m. when BGE officials were able to stop the leak, Cox said.
According to an article in the Maryland Gazette, at least one person drove around the barricades and bumped a fire engine. Police pursued the driver to southbound 295 and into Prince George's County where officers from other jurisdictions eventually stopped and arrested the man.

Glen Burnie: Stabbing
A Glen Burnie man was stabbed by an acquaintance Oct. 12 in the 400 block of Rogers Avenue, police said.
According to a police press release, officers responded to the 400 block of Rogers for a reported stabbing.
Once on the scene, officers spoke with a 25-year-old man who said he pulled up in front of his home when an acquaintance approached him. The man and his acquaintance entered the man’s home when they got into a verbal argument that became physical. The victim said the suspect stabbed him in the torso before running down Rogers Avenue toward Georgia Avenue.
The victim was taken to the Shock Trauma Center in serious but stable condition.
Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but did not find the suspect. Detectives identified the suspect and the investigation is ongoing.

Annapolis:
Anne Arundel County Police said a man is facing attempted murder charges following a stabbing Tuesday evening in Greater Annapolis.
Officers said they responded to a home in the 1900 block of Valley Road off of Generals Highway for a domestic disturbance and found a 42-year-old man with cuts on his upper and lower torso, according to a release.
The man was treated at for not life-threatening injuries.
Police said Roland Eugene Proctor, 53, of the 100 block of Virginia Lane in Glen Burnie, went to the home on Valley Road shortly before 9 p.m. and was told to leave by a woman he knew.
Proctor then forced his way into the home and started to struggle with a man inside, who also told him to leave, according to the release.
The two men began to fight and police said Proctor stabbed the man. Officers arrested Proctor on the scene.
In addition to the attempted murder charges, Proctor also was charged with first- and second-degree assault, burglary and reckless endangerment.
Glen Burnie: Robbery
A man robbed a Glen Burnie 7-Eleven store Oct. 11, police said.
According to a police press release, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located in the 7100 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie at about 4:50 a.m. for a reported robbery.
Once on the scene, officers spoke with the store clerk who said a man entered the store, pointed an unknown object at him and demanded money from the register. Police said the clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then drove from the scene in a dark-colored four-door sedan heading north on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard.
Several officers searched the area but were unable to find the man.

Glen Burnie:
Police arrested a Glen Burnie man in connection with the armed robbery of another man Monday on Old Stage Road.
Joshua Mason Whittington, 25, was charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault and other related offenses.
According to a police press release, officers responded to the 400 block of Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie at about 9:15 a.m. Monday for a reported robbery.
Once on the scene, officers spoke with a 21-year-old man who said he was walking near Quarterfield Road when he noticed a man walking behind him. As the victim approached an apartment building in the 400 block of Old Stage Road, police said Whittington allegedly pulled a knife and took money from the victim's pocket. Police said Whittington then ran from the scene.
About 30 minutes later, a witness saw Whittington in the area and officers, who were searching for him, located and arrested him.

Glen Burnie: Robbery
A woman robbed a Glen Burnie Dollar General store Oct. 9, police said.
According to a police press release, officers responded to the store located in the 7300 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie at about 6 p.m. for a reported robbery.
Once on the scene, officers spoke with an employee who said that a woman attempted to buy something from the store and then when the employee opened the register the woman reached over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money.
The employee said he confronted the woman as she tried to leave the store, but she told the employee that she was armed with a handgun and ran toward the parking lot where she got in the passenger side of a silver hatchback car with tinted rear windows.
The woman fled toward 8th Avenue. Several officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to find the woman and the driver of the hatchback.
Glen Burnie: Robbery
A man was robbed as he was walking on Old Stage Road Oct. 9, police said.
Officers responded to the 400 block of Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie at about 9 a.m. for a reported robbery.
Once on the scene officers spoke with a man who said he was walking in the area of Old Stage Road near Pamela Road when a man approached him from behind. The man then grabbed the victim, went into his pockets and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then ran toward the 400 block of Pamela Road.
Several officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to find the man.

Glen Burnie: Robbery
A 22-year-old man was robbed by two men as he was walking home in the area of Beaghan Drive in Glen Burnie Oct. 8, police said.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Beaghan Drive at about 3 a.m. for a reported robbery.
Once on the scene, officers spoke with the 22-year-old man who said two men assaulted him as he walked. Police said the men took an undisclosed amount of cash from the man as they assaulted him. Both men then ran toward Spencer Road.
Several officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to find the men.
The victim was taken to the for treatment of minor injuries.

Glen Burnie:
The at 575 Ordnance Road was evacuated around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday because one of the refrigeration units in the store was leaking freon, said Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Lt. Cliff Kooser.
People in the store reported smelling an odor, which fire department crews determined was coming from freon leaking from a refrigeration unit near the produce department, Kooser said.
It took crews about 40 minutes to evacuate the building, isolate the leaking unit and shut it down. Customers and staff were then allowed back in the store.
