Environmentalists Investigate Dead Fish in Marley, Furnace Creeks

Thousands of dead fish were found in Marley and Furnace creeks.

Many Glen Burnie residents were left wondering why Marley and Furnace creeks were full of dead fish on Monday and Tuesday.

According to an article in the Maryland Gazette, algae blooms causing low oxygen in the water is causing the fish to die.

A Maryland Department of the Environment spokesman told the Gazette that the sewage spill in the Patapsco River in March could have caused the algae bloom.
