Andrew's Pins For A Purpose is the first annual bowling event to honor Andrew Alton Dowley, the 2 1/2-year-old son of Pete and Julie Dowley who died suddenly July 23, 2009, when he never woke up from a nap.
His death was never explained and is considered to be Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). The Dowleys hope to raise awareness of the SUDC program.
The Baltimore family's event will feature all-you-can-duck-pin bowl, discounted food, raffles, a bake sale and door prizes. All proceeds benefit the SUDC Program in memory of Andrew.
