Free Diabetes Self-Management Classes at Pascal Center

Free classes in Diabetes Self-Management will be taught at the , 125 Dorsey Road, in Glen Burnie once a week for six weeks beginning in May.

The classes are offered through the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities. Subjects include how to manage your diabetes. This includes learning how to manage the symptoms that go along with diabetes such as fatigue, stress, anxiety, and hyper/hypoglycemia.

Participants also will learn appropriate exercise, better nutrition choices, and how to monitor their blood sugar.

The classes are designed to get participants to feel better and take charge of their lives. They will improve their communication skills with their doctors, solve problems, and set goals.

Classes will be offered from 9 to 11:30 a.m. May 3, 10, 17 and 24 and June 7 and 14 at the senior center. To register, contact Pam Toomey at the Department of Aging at 410-222-4366 or email agtoomey88@aacounty.org.
