Glen Burnie Area Athletes Sign to Play College Sports
Over the past week, at least three Glen Burnie seniors have signed letters of intent to play college sports.
Three Glen Burnie area high school students will be heading to play college sports next year—two from North County and one from Glen Burnie.
On Nov. 9, Melanie Slowinski, 17, of Severn signed a letter of intent to play softball at Rutgers University. The senior finally made it official after a knowing for a year that she wanted to attend the New Jersey School, according to The Capital.
On Friday, Nov. 11, Cliff Cornish, 16, of Glen Burnie signed a letter of intent to play basketball at High Point University, surrounded by friends and family at . He plans to study sociology at the North Carolina school in the fall, his mother Angela Middleton-Cornish said at the signing event.

Carrie Miskill, 17, of Linthicum, signed her letter of intent on Tuesday. She will head to Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, in the fall to play lacrosse. The North County senior, who plays defense, signed a letter of intent to play in front of friends and family members at the school.
The three were among many county high school students who received scholarships to play college sports, according to a report in The Capital.
