Glen Burnie Facility to Produce New Radar System

Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman announced that a joint venture secured a deal to produce six helicopter radar systems for South Korea.

Northrop Grumman's Glen Burnie complex will be one of the beneficiaries of a $51 million contract with South Korea for a new helicopter radar system.

The company announced Friday that LONGBOW, a joint venture between it and Bethesda-based Lockheed Martin, received a contract to provide South Korea with six new fire control radars for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter, in addition to spare parts and support.

Production on the radar systems is set through 2015 at Northrop Grumman's Glen Burnie facility near Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, as well as at two Lockheed facilities in Florida.
