Glen Burnie Man Arrested in Connection With Armed Robbery

Police say Joshua Mason Whittington, 25, allegedly pulled a knife on a man in Glen Burnie and stole money from him.

Police arrested a Glen Burnie man in connection with the armed robbery of another man Monday on Old Stage Road.

Joshua Mason Whittington, 25, was charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault and other related offenses.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the 400 block of Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie at about 9:15 a.m. Monday for a reported robbery.

Once on the scene, officers spoke with a 21-year-old man who said he was walking near Quarterfield Road when he noticed a man walking behind him. As the victim approached an apartment building in the 400 block of Old Stage Road, police said Whittington allegedly pulled a knife and took money from the victim's pocket. Police said Whittington then ran from the scene.

About 30 minutes later, a witness saw Whittington in the area and officers, who were searching for him, located and arrested him.
