Glen Burnie Man Wanted In Homicide Surrenders To Police

Khiry Dewann Queen of Glen Burnie, who faces second-degree murder and other felony charges, turned himself in to police on Friday.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie man who faces second-degree murder and other felony charges in a September homicide turned himself in to authorities early Friday. Khiry Dewann Queen, 21, of Glen Burnie is involved in the shooting death of Fillmore James Burriss, 27, of Glen Burnie, authorities said.

Police received a report about a fight about 10:45 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 500 block of Delaware Avenue. When they arrived, officers found Burriss lying dead in the street from a gunshot wound, according to the police department.

Witnesses told investigators Queen was one of three men who approached Burriss while he was talking to family outside, according to a police report. One of the men pulled out a handgun and shot Burriss, police said.

Queen is charged with second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, loaded handgun on a person, handgun on a person and firearm used in a felony/violent crime.

Queen turned himself in to the Anne Arundel County Police Northern District about 2:36 a.m. Friday and was taken to Central Booking, where he was booked on the second-degree murder and related charges in Burriss' death.
