Glen Burnie Park Residents Continue To Cope Without Power

Residents of Glen Burnie Park said they were still without power on Monday afternoon after losing it Friday night during the storm.

Patch asked Glen Burnie readers to share their experience in the aftermath of Friday night's storm.

Some reported on the Glen Burnie Patch Facebook page that their power had been restored, but others in the Glen Burnie Park neighborhood said they still have no electricity or water.

Some parts of Glen Burnie Park still out, and wish BGE would stop lying about when it will be back up, just tell us the truth, first they say in few hours, then they say by tonight and now they are saying as soon as someone gets the trees off the lines which may be the end of the week. This is a real shame especially since the road that I am concerned about has a lot of elderly people living there, and why can't they open the elementary school for these people to come and sit to cool down. And why isn't AA county giving out dry ice like Baltimore, what's with that?—Diane Wilcoxen

I live in Glen Burnie Park and have been without power since Friday and have my infant grandbaby. I just saw a BGE guy walk up my driveway and look at the lines so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is fixed today.—Michelle Ron Habrat-Nickel

I was hoping maybe someone can research why GB park loses power so much and why it always takes so long to repair??? Its insanity—Jacqui Mayton

I live on Mayo in Glen Burnie Park an I am still without power since Friday when the storm first started. I hav a dog and 2 cats and I need to wear a CPAp at night I have lost most everything in my fridge and my next door neIghbor is pregnant. How much longer this happens every time we have storm Glen Burnie Park is without power BGE needs to update the system in that area.—Teresa Hand

Luckily I am among the few who did not lose power, though my lights flickered a little with the rain that came through early Monday morning.

Severn side of GB, far side of 97 off Quarterfield. Never lost power, no trees down that I've seen, and no lines down in our neighborhood. Was very surprised, and very lucky, as we lose power all the time over here! I hope most faired as well as we did over here, and no one suffered major damage.—Dana Hunsicker Kline

Those who've had power restored and those who are still without shared ways they were staying cool.

I live in millersville 5 mins from shoppers in Pasadena! I got my power back on Saturday 8 pm almost 24 hours of no electric and water! I went to shoppers bought 8 gallons of water bathed my kids outside in a pool! Took rides throughout the day so the kids could nap in air conditioning! Power went out almost immediately when the storm hit trees were down in the yard! Powers back on and were happy. : -)—Michelle Blades

It was actually hotter inside then out we also bought bag of ice filled one of them big glass pickle jar up of ice and passed it around!!! We went and used the bathroom local stores! I bought a big box of Popsicles also and we all sat around and ate all of 18 of them I took my grandmother some who lives down the street! Hope everyone gets power soon if your still without! I have 3 kids who were miserable all day but we managed—Michelle Blades

We had the grandbaby over her other grandma's house that had a move pool, so they stayed there while my husand and myself managed to go buy a generatorr and window air conditioner. I also have two pugs one of which almost died on ,Saturday night because it was that hot in the house and pugs have short nozzles anyway. So we got all that set up and she came back last night. I have her today and its comfortable in here right now. But would be nice to get back to some normalcy.—Michelle Ron Habrat-Nickel
