Glen Burnie Restaurant Joins 7 Others to Help Prevent Teen Suicide

Local restaurants are banding together to help prevent teen suicide.

Proceeds from eight restaurants across Anne Arundel will go toward the county's Youth Suicide Awareness Action Team, according to a press release from Anne Arundel County Public Schools. The push comes during National Suicide Prevention Week, Sept. 8-14. 

A local mom whose son committed suicide is sharing her story at Woods Memorial Church in Severna Park on September 11, as part of National Suicide Prevention Week.

The donated proceeds will be used to fund a variety of programs at Anne Arundel County high schools and other locations across the county.

The Youth Suicide Awareness Action Team works to address teen suicide and related emotional issues, such as depression. The team is comprised of representatives from county agencies, including local schools. More than 18,000 people have been trained in how to recognize suicidal ideation and how to direct them toward help.

Chevy’s Annapolis, 2430 Solomons Island Road, Annapolis

Thursday, September 12:

Ledo’s Pizza – Severna Park, 552 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park

September 8-14:

Bella Napoli – Pasadena, 350 Mountain Road, Pasadena
