Gov. Hogan Not Picked for Anne Arundel Jury
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan spent Wednesday morning in Annapolis waiting to see if he was selected for a jury.

Not even Maryland’s governor is too busy to escape jury duty.
Gov. Larry Hogan spent Wednesday morning at the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court in Annapolis as a potential juror, although he was not selected for a jury.
All potential jurors are paid $15 for their time – that included Hogan. “First time I’ve made money in a long time,” he told The Capital-Gazette.

After Hogan and other jury pool candidates were dismissed, he posted on Facebook: “Released from jury duty. Next up, traveling to Baltimore County to Sparrows Point for a tour of the old steel mill.”
Hogan chatted with other potential jurors, telling the newspaper several people appreciated his action to lower highway toll rates.

Wednesday was the first time Hogan was called to jury duty, which surprised him.
He was called to jury duty on Jan. 21, but received a deferral because that was the day he took the oath of office as governor.
