Blaine, 42, made his name as a street performer, reports The Washington Post, and arrived in the strife-torn city with a team of videographers to offer “some nice distractions.”
“I am not trying to resolve anything,” Blaine told the Post. “I just want to be here, to let people know we care and to see people smile for a moment.”

As Blaine urged people, many of them Anne Arundel officers, to come closer, one of them joked that all their guns were disappearing.
“Now, this was fun,” the department said on Facebook.
Blaine pulled off the card trick, drawing applause and laughs from the watching officers, with one shouting, “Start checking your wallets.”
Blaine is known for stunts that take endurance: being frozen in ice for days in Times Square or hanging suspended 30 feet in the air in a plexiglass case for 44 days in London.
