Last Chance: GBIA Carter Award Nominations
Do you know a dedicated community volunteer? The deadline to nominate them for the Glen Burnie Improvement Association Carter Award is coming up soon.

The is seeking nominations for outstanding volunteers for this year's Richard H. Carter award. Nominations must be received by May 1.
The award, established in 1991 to pay tribute to dedicated community volunteers, is for people living in the 21060 or 21061 ZIP codes who have served the Glen Burnie community through a variety of organizations or activities.
Nomination forms can be obtained from the GBIA hall (19 Crain Highway S.) or their website. Contact the hall at 410-766-6760.

The Carter Award winner will hold a place of honor in the upcoming Memorial Day Parade on May 20 and will be publicly honored during an upcoming GBIA meeting.
The winner also will be presented with a check for $200 to be donated to the community organization of their choice.

The last Carter Award recipient was Richard C. Gross Sr. in 2010. No honoree was selected last year because the nominees did not meet the award's guidelines, according to the June/July 2011 GBIA newsletter.
