“The support we received not only from our school, but from our community, last year was simply overwhelming,” Shawn Wingard said in the press release. Wingard is a special education teacher at Lindale who is helping to organize the event.
“It was truly inspiring to see people rally to help those in need during what is traditionally one of the food bank’s leanest times for donations. We are hoping to be able to donate 10,000 pounds of food this year,” he said in the release.
