Linthicum Community Library to Close Temporarily for Renovations
All programs scheduled during the renovation period are canceled, and the library's backdrop will also close.

Officials for the Anne Arundel County Public Library system (AACPL) announced that the Linthicum Community Library will be closed for renovations from May 9 to 21.
During this time, the library’s bookdrop will also be closed, and all programs scheduled during that period are canceled.
The library will reopen on Monday, May 23, officials said.

The renovations to be completed include work on the ceilings, officials said.
“The closure will allow for extensive repair and replacement work to be completed to the building’s ceiling tiles, which date back to 1967. Once completed, the building will be more welcoming,” said Hampton “Skip” Auld, CEO of the AACPL.

During the closure, customers are encouraged to visit the nearby Glen Burnie Regional Library at 1010 Eastway; the Brooklyn Park Community Library at 1 East 11th Ave.; or the Severn Community Library at 2624 Annapolis Rd.
Library officials said materials checked out at the Linthicum Library April 22 or later will be given an extended due date of May 23, with the exception of a few Interlibrary Loan items.
"Although the bookdrop will be closed, materials may be returned to any AACPL branch or renewed online at www.aacpl.net or by phone at 410-222-4444," they said. "Materials with due dates during the closure will be assessed fines if not returned or renewed."
Additionally, materials placed on hold for pick up at the Linthicum branch that arrive during the closure will be sent to the Glen Burnie Regional Library.
