Local Engineer Honored by Mexican American Opportunity Foundation

Ana Luisa Ramirez, a systems engineering manager for Northrop Grumman, was recognized for her service to the Hispanic community.

A national organization recognized Ana Luisa Ramirez, of Curtis Bay, as the Woman of the Year for her personal achievements and contributions to the Hispanic community, according to a press release from Northrop Grumman.

Ramirez works as a systems engineering manager at Northrop Grumman's Baltimore campus, but she is also involved in the board of U.S. Hispanic Youth Entrepreneur Education and the Baltimore chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.

This is not the first accolade she has received either. She was also named a luminary by the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards and a rising star by Women of Color in Technology.

Ramirez earned her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in systems engineering from the Johns Hopkins University.
