Longtime Glen Burnie Business To Close In October

GLEN BURNIE, MD — After almost six decades in business, a longtime Glen Burnie western-style clothing store will be closing its doors. Carol's Western Wear will officially shut down Oct. 4. A large inventory sale will be held Sept. 14 with everything made available for purchase.

Owner Bob Chance shared with the Baltimore Sun that his father opened the store in his basement in 1962 and it's tough to let the family business go. But healthcare costs are eating away at Chance's bottom line and he cannot afford to keep the business afloat and care for an aging family member who needs long-term care.
