A man died Wednesday morning in Glen Burnie after driving a pickup truck into oncoming traffic on Route 10 and crashing into a section of an overpass, according to Anne Arundel County police.

At around 7 a.m., police and emergency crews responded to a reported single-vehicle crash in the area of Route 10 and East Ordnance Road. They found the driver of a pickup truck dead on the scene, according to police spokesman Justin Mulcahy.

The initial investigation suggests the pickup truck was traveling northbound on Route 10 when it drifted into the median, then into oncoming southbound traffic, until the vehicle crashed into a support of the Dover Road overpass, Mulcahy said.

Police have closed off a section of southbound Route 10 while the detectives investigate the crash, and the department is waiting to identify the man until notification of next of kin, according to Mulcahy.
