UPDATED: Police Name Suspect in Sunday Murder at Mo's Seafood

Police are trying to locate Cornelius Keith Johnson, 24, of Baltimore in connection with the shooting.

UPDATED (7:40 p.m. Monday): Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Cornelius Keith Johnson, 24, of Baltimore in connection with the murder of Andrew Johnson.

While the victim and the suspect share a last name, "no information is available concerning a possible relationship," said Lt. Francis Tewey, Anne Arundel County Police spokesman.

Police say Cornelius Johnson should be considered "armed and dangerous" and anyone with information about his whereabouts should call 911 or contact homicide Detective Norval Cooper at 410-222-3453.

Andrew Michael Johnson, 25, died from his injuries later that night at the hospital.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the parking lot of Mo's Seafood, located in the 7100 block of Ritchie Highway, at about 10:35 p.m. Sunday for a reported shooting.

Once on the scene, officers discovered Johnson outside on the parking lot. He apparently was shot in the upper torso, police said. Johnson was taken to Harbor Hospital where he later died.

According to preliminary investigation, police said it appears that Johnson was targeted and it was not a random act of violence.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information in the shooting is asked to contact Detective Norval Cooper at 410-222-3453 or Metro Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
