Men Allegedly Use Stun Gun on Robbery Victim

Police arrested three men on armed robbery charges Friday night in Glen Burnie.

Three men were arrested Friday night after police say they used a stun gun on a Glen Burnie man and attempted to rob him.

Bernard Vernoa Lathern, 26, of the 1400 block of 18th Place SE in Washington, DC; Tron Cornelius Scipio, 32, of the 6900 block of Hanover Parkway in Greenbelt; and Malik Kendall Bangbeor, 20, of the 1200 block of 7th Street NW in Washington, DC, were charged with armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault and related charges.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the unit block of 1st Avenue in Glen Burnie for a reported robbery. Officers spoke with the victim, a 21-year-old man, who said he was walking through the backyard of a home on 1st Avenue when three men accosted him.

He told police one suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from him while a second suspect repeatedly deployed a stun gun device on him. The victim was unable to give anything to the suspects and they fled the scene in a tan-colored Dodge SUV with Washington, DC, tags.

An aviation unit, K-9 unit, traffic safety officers and officers from northern and eastern district stations searched for the suspects and located the SUV in the area of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Mountain Road.

Officers stopped the SUV and all three suspects were positively identified.
