Multi-Specialty HealthCare Announces the Launch of its Premier NeuroTrauma Institute

Multi-Specialty HealthCare (MSHC) is pleased to announce the launch of the NeuroTrauma Institute at Multi-Specialty. The Institute is a leading center dedicated to the complete care of closed head injuries, including traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-concussion syndrome.

“What we want to do with the NeuroTrauma Institute at Multi-Specialty is bring an evidence-based, objective approach to the evaluation and treatment of TBI and other related issues,” states Dr. Barbara A. Cochran, Medical Director. “I’m excited to be working with MSHC to bring these advanced services to patients in need.”

The Institute’s comprehensive services will be offered at all of MSHC’s care centers throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C. and the surrounding areas. Services include Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT®), an FDA-approved software designed to help assess a patient’s cognitive function immediately following a suspected closed head injury.

ABOUT THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Barbara A. Cochran is a board certified internist specializing in occupational medicine, with board eligibility for occupational and environmental medicine, as well as psychiatry.

Dr. Cochran comes to MSHC with over 10 years of experience. She has developed a protocol for TBI/post-concussion syndrome evaluation, incorporating the latest scientific knowledge with practical experience and individual specific assessments.
