Police Arrest 3 in Connection with Armed Robbery

In separate incidents, police reported a home invasion in the 6500 block of Cedar Furnace Circle and a robbery in the area of Jerome Parkway and Glenwood Road in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County police arrested three men Wednesday night in connection with the armed robbery of a 24-year-old man in Glen Burnie.

Officers arrested Brandon Bain, 22, of the 5600 block of Harbor Valley Drive in Brooklyn Park and Jvaughn Smith, 22, and Jquaghn Franklin, 19, of the 1500 block of Lochaber Court in Glen Burnie. Police said in a release the three men were charged with armed robbery, robbery, theft, assault, reckless endangerment and use of a firearm in a violent crime and other charges. In addition, police said Smith was charged with giving a false statement to an officer.

Officers responded to the area of Rippling Ridge Road and Glen Ridge Court in Glen Burnie at about 9 p.m. Wednesday for a reported armed robbery, according to a police press release.

Once on the scene, they spoke with the 24-year-old man who said he met up with two men he knew when another man approached them with a firearm, police said. The man robbed the victim but did not rob the victim's two acquaintances, who fled the scene in a vehicle.

The victim reportedly directed the officers to the 1500 block of Lochaber Court, where he said at least one acquaintance lived. The officers found the three men sitting in the vehicle used to flee the scene in front of the home in Lochaber Court.

An investigation confirmed that the victim's acquaintances were involved in the robbery, police said.

Bain, Smith and Franklin also were charged with possession of, and possession with the intent to distribute, marijuana on Thursday. A police spokesman said it was unclear if the two incidents were related.

Glen Burnie—Home invasion robbery

Three males robbed a Glen Burnie home Wednesday night, police said.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the 6500 block of Cedar Furnace Circle for a reported home invasion robbery.

Once on the scene, officers spoke with the victims who said three masked suspects armed with firearms forced their way into the home as one of the victims was unlocking the front door.

Once inside, the suspects retrained the victims and proceeded to ransack the home for "an extended period of time," police said. The suspects assaulted one of the victims (a man).

According to the Maryland Gazette, the man was burned by the suspects but police did not say how.

The suspects eventually fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, a 2005 Honda CR-V, which later was recovered near Carolina Avenue in the Heritage Hills community. It was unoccupied, police said.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Glen Burnie—Robbery

A 30-year-old Glen Burnie man was robbed early Thursday morning, police said.

Officers responded to the area of Jerome Parkway and Glenwood Road in Glen Burnie at about 12:45 a.m. Thursday for a reported robbery, according to a police press release.

Officers spoke with the victim who said he was sitting in his vehicle when a man approached him. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the victim's belongings. The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect ran from the area with another suspect.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
