Police Arrest Glen Burnie Man in Connection with Armed Robbery of Cab Driver

Earl Gomte Madoukou, 32, of Glen Burnie faces charges of armed robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and other charges.

Anne Arundel County police arrested a Glen Burnie man early Friday morning and charged him in the robbery of a cab driver.

Earl Gomte Madoukou, 32, of Glen Burnie was charged with armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault, theft, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and other charges.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the area of Janelin Drive and Kimberly Lane in Glen Burnie shortly after 2 a.m. for the reported robbery of a cab driver.

Once on the scene, officers were told that Madoukou, who was a passenger in the cab, threatened the driver with a handgun and robbed him of his belongings and an undetermined amount of cash then fled the area.

At about 4:40 a.m. officers were told that the possible suspect was in the area of the Royal Farms store located in the 6900 block of Ritchie Highway. They arrested Madoukou there after the cab driver identified him.
