Police Find Sleeping Man, 590 Pills in Vehicle

An officer arrested the man after finding him asleep inside an operating vehicle in Glen Burnie.

A vehicle search by Anne Arundel County police early Sunday in Glen Burnie resulted in one arrest and the seizure of nearly 600 pills after an officer found the driver asleep inside his running car.

Shortly before 3 a.m., an officer saw a vehicle near the intersection of Genine Drive and Furnace Avenue, and noticed the engine running, while the driver appeared to be "passed out," a department news release said. 

According to the release, the officer "developed probable cause" to search the vehicle and found 590 pills, with a total value of approximately $2,727.

Police released the following list of pills among those seized in the incident:

  • 24 Ambien
  • 20 Hydromorphone
  • 13 Propacet
  • 22 Morphine Sulfate
  • 12 Acetaminophen/Propoxyphene
  • 20 Acetaminophen and Codeine
  • 32 Hydromorphone Hydrochloride
  • 18 Alprazolam
  • 101 Lorazepam
  • 117 Clorazepate

Police arrested Joshua David Schulze, 28, of Brooklyn Park, and charged him with 25 offenses, including drug possession with intent to distribute, marijuana possession and resisting arrest.
