Brooklyn Park: Armed robbery

Anne Arundel County arrested a Baltimore man Dec. 25 and charged with the armed robbery of two elderly women in Brooklyn Park.

According to police two women, an 80-year-old woman from Baltimore and a 75-year-old woman from Glen Burnie, were approached by Michael Anthony Carotenuto, 39, as they left The Rose Restaurant in the 6000 block of Belle Grove Road.

Carotenuto is accused of threatening the women with a claw hammer and forcibly taking their purses before fleeing in what was later found to be a stolen vehicle. Investigation led officers to Carotenuto who was in the 2200 block of Cedley Street in Baltimore.

Carotenuto was arrested and charged with armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, first-degree assault and other related charges.

Glen Burnie: Armed robbery

Police arrested a Severn Man Dec. 21 and charged him with the armed robbery of a Glen Burnie woman.

According to police, a 21-year-old woman told police that she was walking home in the area of Cayer Drive and Aquahart Road when she approached Anthony Maurice Medley, 26, of Severn sitting in a silver Neon and asked him for a ride to her home in the 400 block of Aquahart Road.

She told police that Medley drove her to a place near her home when he demanded that she leave her purse. She said when she initially refused, Medley pulled out a knife and demanded she leave her purse and get out of the car, at which point she complied.

Police stopped the Neon later in the area of Jacobs Road and Crest Road in Severn when Medley was detained and positively identified by the victim.

Police charged him with robbery, armed robbery and related offenses.

Glen Burnie: Drug arrests

Police arrested two Glen Burnie men Dec. 10 and charged them with possession of both cocaine and marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Police responded to an apartment in the 400 block of Pamela Road at about 10:50 a.m. to find a resident who said two men entered his home and beat him before taking money and ransacking the apartment before leaving. The victim was taken to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspects, police said.

Upon further investigation, police obtained a search-and-seizure warrant for the victim's apartment and executed it at about 2 p.m.

Police found 347.5 grams of suspected marijuana, 7.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, $400 in cash and a 12-guage shotgun.

Police issued warrants for Jordan M. Davis, 18, and Marcellus I. Davis, 45, both of Glen Burnie, charging both men with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm with a connection to a drug-trafficking case.

The investigation is ongoing.
