Police Charge 5 in Pair of Armed Taxi Robberies

Police arrested five people after a taxi robbery early Thursday, and charged them with another taxi robbery on Wednesday.

Anne Arundel County police have charged five people in two armed robberies of taxi drivers that occurred within 24 hours of each other.

The first robbery occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, but police were unable to locate the suspects at the time.

But just before 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, a taxi driver reported he was robbed when he arrived in the area of Evelyn Avenue and Hammonds Ferry North to pick up a fare, according to police.

The victim told officers that two men and one woman entered the rear of his cab, and one man produced a knife as the other produced a handgun, both demanding money. The victim handed over cash and the suspects also took his car keys and cell phone.

The suspects fled in a gray sedan that was parked nearby.

At 1:45 a.m., police spotted a vehicle on Route 648 in Ferndale matching the description from the robbery. The officer stopped the vehicle and found three men and two women inside.

The victim positively identified several occupants as being involved in the robbery. As a result, police arrested all five suspects and have connected them with both robberies.

Officers found a knife and a BB gun inside the vehicle.

Police charged the following suspects with robbery and related offenses:

  • Jerome Raymond Weber, 22, of Pasadena
  • Justin Anthony Russell, 29, of Chester (also served with outstanding warrant from Queen Anne's County for parole violation)
  • Michael Kenneth Raub, 43, of Glen Burnie
  • Nicole Marie Gorman, 32, of Glen Burnie (also served with outstanding warrant from Howard County for car theft)
