Police Charge Woman with Intent to Distribute Cocaine

Police said they saw the Odenton woman with an open container during a traffic stop and searched her car, finding powder and crack cocaine.

 

Anne Arundel County police arrested an Odenton woman Tuesday evening on drug charges.

Shannon Levett Smith, 51, of the 1200 block of Scotts Manor Court in Odenton, was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and minor traffic charges, according to online court documents.

Officers pulled over Smith at about 7:25 p.m. Tuesday for a registration violation in the area of Oak Manor Drive and Crain Highway in Glen Burnie,  according to a police press release.

Police said they saw Smith had an open alcohol container and searched her 1999 Nissan Altima. Police said they discovered about 15 grams total of both powder and crack cocaine and about 40 grams of a compound used as a cutting agent to mix the cocaine.
