Police Find Rental Van Full of Drugs, Cash
A Brooklyn Park woman faces drug-related charges and police are seeking a Baltimore man who was driving a rental van containing more than $12,000 worth of drugs.
Anne Arundel County police arrested a Brooklyn Park woman and are seeking a man who ran from a van containing more than $12,000 worth of drugs and $10,000 cash on Tuesday.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for Reginald Woodson, 32, of Baltimore in connection to the incident but have not yet located him, according to police spokesperson Justin Mulcahy. Marquile Young, 31, of Brooklyn Park was arrested on drug-related charges.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the Sleep Inn hotel on the 6000 block of Belle Grove Rd. for a report of "unauthorized use" of a vehicle. Police spoke to a woman who said Woodson—her boyfriend—was using her rental van and would not return it.
Officers located the van with Woodson in the driver's seat with a woman next to him. Police said there was a marijuana smell so officers asked the couple to get out of the van. While police spoke to the woman, Woodson ran away.
Police discovered the following items inside the vehicle:
- 121.2 grams of cocaine
- 56 green baggies of crack cocaine, totaling 11.1 grams
- 44 gel capsules of heroin, totaling 10.7 grams
- Digital scale with white residue containing cocaine
- $10,360 in cash
- Various drug dealing tools recovered
The drugs are worth about $12,479, according to police.
