Police Make Arrests in 3 Area Robberies
Anne Arundel County police officers arrested four men in three separate robberies that occurred Wednesday and early Thursday morning.

Brooklyn Park: Robbery arrest
Anne Arundel County police arrested an Arbutus man Wednesday morning in connection with a residential burglary in Brooklyn Park.

Justin David Taylor, 29, of the 1200 block of Stevens Ave. in Arbutus, was charged with first-, second- and fourth-degree burglary and other related charges, authorities said.
According to a police press release, officers and a K-9 unit responded to the 200 block of Charles St. in Brooklyn Park at about 10 a.m. Wednesday for a reported burglary in progress.

Dispatchers told police that a man was standing on the back deck of the home when witnesses heard a loud noise and no longer saw the man. When officers arrived, they set up a perimeter, entered the home and announced their presence, police said.
The man went out a second-floor window and made his way onto the roof in an attempt to get away from the officers. He eventually jumped into the backyard when police took him into custody, according to the release.
Glen Burnie: Burglary arrest
A man is accused of calling in a false 911 call to divert police officers as he burglarized another Glen Burnie apartment on Wednesday night, police said.
Cori Lamar Williams—also known as Kori Lamar Williams, according to court documents—32, of no fixed address, was charged with third- and fourth-degree burglary, telephone misuse and other related charges.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Southbridge Drive in Glen Burnie for a reported burglary of a vacant apartment, according to a police press release. As officers approached the apartment, police said they received a call about another robbery a short distance away.
One officer remained at the apartment while other officers investigated the second call, which was determined to be unfounded. Additional officers arrived at the apartment at Southbridge Drive and located Williams inside the apartment, police said.
Police said they also determined that Williams made the false robbery call in an attempt to divert the officers.
Brooklyn Park: Burglary arrest
Police said they arrested two Brooklyn Park men in connection with a burglary early Thursday morning.
John Henry Helmick, 22, and Charles Andrew Schultz Jr., 25, both of the 700 block of Church St. in Brooklyn Park, were arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, theft under $1,000 and trespassing. Helmick was .
According to a police press release, officers responded to the area of 10th Avenue in Brooklyn Park at about 4:45 a.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious people in the area.
Witnesses told police they saw Helmick and Schultz in the yard of a home in the 300 block of 10th Ave., carrying items from the area. Police were told that the men ran into a nearby wooded area.
After a brief search, police said they located Helmick and Schultz and determined that the two men broke into a garage in the 300 block of 10th Ave. and stole property.
