Police: Man Attempts Robbery in Glen Burnie IHOP

Anne Arundel County police arrested a Glen Burnie man after he attempted to rob an IHOP employee at gunpoint inside the restaurant's bathroom on Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 5 p.m., a man approached a male employee inside the bathroom at IHOP, on the 7100 block of Ritchie Highway, displayed a gun and demanded money. The victim then pushed his way out of the bathroom and escaped the suspect, according to police.

Investigation by arriving officers revealed the identity of a potential suspect, and police located the man at his home in Glen Burnie.

Police arrested Leroy Carl Boffen, 20, and charged him with armed robbery, attempted theft and false imprisonment.
