Police: Purse-Snatcher Waited in Victim's Back Seat

A male robbed a 45-year-old woman early Friday morning, police said.

An unidentified male waited in the back seat of a Glen Burnie woman's car, demanding her purse once she got inside around 4:30 a.m. Friday, according to Anne Arundel County police.

The reported robbery took place outside Glen Ridge Apartments in the unit block of Glen Ridge Road, according to a press release. Police responded to the scene at about 5:45 a.m. Police said they believe the woman, 45, lives in the area and was on her way to work.

The woman told police she had gotten into her vehicle in the Glen Ridge Apartments parking lot at about 4:30 a.m. when a male rose from the back seat and demanded her belongings. The woman gave the male her purse before he ran behind the apartment buildings, the release stated. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and other items.

Officers searched the area but we not able to locate the male, police said.
