Police Say Brooklyn Park Man Fired a Shotgun Inside His Home
Police charged William Bennington, 50, early Wednesday morning with reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm.

Anne Arundel County police arrested a Brooklyn Park man early Wednesday morning after they say he fired a shotgun inside his home.
William Bennington, 50, of Brooklyn Park, was charged with reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm within 100 yards of a structure.
According to a police press release, officers responded to Murph's Liquors in the 600 block of Rtichie Highway in Brooklyn Park at about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired.

Once on the scene, officers spoke with a woman who said she was arguing with another woman in the parking lot when she heard a gunshot in the area. Officers then heard a gunshot coming from the second floor of a nearby residence.
Officers reportedly surrounded the home and, while waiting for the Special Operations Section, a man left the residence and was questioned by police. The man told police that there still were several people inside the home and that a man had discharged a shotgun inside.

Members of the Special Operations Section arrived at about 2:30 a.m. and removed four people, including Bennington, from the home without incident. Officers searched the home and recovered the shotgun.
