Police Seek Information on Suspicious Person in Brooklyn Park

A 9-year-old girl told police a man approached her twice in the past week while walking in Brooklyn Park.

Anne Arundel County police officers are asking the public for information on a suspicious man who approached a girl two times in the past week as she walked in Brooklyn Park.

Police describe the suspect as being a white man in his 60s who was seen wearing a black ski mask, a black T-shirt with a red heart and arrow through the middle, white shorts and black slippers.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the 4400 block Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park at about 3:35 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person.

Officers spoke with a 9-year-old girl who said she was walking the area of Alley 44 and 5th Avenue when the man approached her and asked her where she was going. The girl ran home.

The girl told police the man did not attempt to grab or touch her in any way. She also said the same man approached her last Friday in the area of 5th Avenue and Morgan Road.

Police said another child reported a similar incident on Feb. 8 in the same general area with a similar suspect description.
