UPDATED: Police Drop Charges Against Man Sought in Connection With Brooklyn Park Sexual Assault

After speaking with Clarence Terrell Randall III, 30, police and prosecutors determined the warrant issued for his arrest should not be served.

Updated 11:44 a.m. Sept. 29: Anne Arundel County Police dropped the charges against Clarence Terrence Randall III, 30, after issuing a warrant for his arrest in connection with an alleged sex offense that took place in Brooklyn Park.

Detectives located and interviewed Randall Thursday and, after speaking with him, police and the State's Attorney's Office determined that the warrant issued for his arrest should not be served, according to a police press release.

Randall was released without any criminal charges related to the alleged sexual assault that took place Monday in Brooklyn Park.

Police said they are not releasing any more information on the incident since it is an ongoing investigation.

A warrant was issued for Clarence Terrell Randall III, 30, in which he is charged with numerous felony and misdemeanor sex offenses, second-degree assault and theft.

According to police press release, Randall also is wanted as a person of interest in other sexual assaults reported in the area.

Officers responded to the 5600 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park at about 2:45 a.m. Monday for a reported sexual assault.

Once on the scene, they spoke with a 22-year-old woman who said a man she did not know picked her up near Belle Grove Road at Ritchie Highway and drove her to the 5600 block of Ritchie Highway where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the man. The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released, police said.

The Criminal Investigation Divison's Sex Offense Unit further investigated the case, which lead to the issuance of a warrant for Randall's arrest.
