Police to Run Special Olympics Torch Down Ritchie Highway Tuesday

Anne Arundel County police officers are planning to run through the county as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics.

Police officers in Anne Arundel County are taking part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run on Tuesday morning, taking a leg of the relay down Ritchie Highway from Glen Burnie to Annapolis.

The relay is part of a statewide effort all week, culminating in the Maryland Special Olympics at Towson University from Friday through Sunday.

"This is an extremely worthy cause and I’m proud of the men and women of this agency who are participating in this event and lending their support to the Special Olympics community," said Lt. Colonel Pamela R. Davis, acting police chief in Anne Arundel County.
